Sophie Galaise

Sophie Galaise is an international arts executive with over two decades of leadership across Australia and Canada, and international experience across Europe. She has led major cultural institutions including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre symphonique de Québec, and the Orford Arts Centre, delivering sustained growth in revenue, philanthropy, and public engagement.
Her work spans international collaboration, community engagement, and access, diversity, equity and inclusion. She currently serves on the board of the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and on boards and advisory committees across the cultural sector, and is actively engaged in philanthropic strategy and grant making through the Di Jameson Family Foundation.
Sophie is Adjunct Professor at HEC Montréal and co-author of Accessibility, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Cultural Sector. She brings both executive and intellectual leadership to the evolving role of arts organisations, with a focus on sustainability, relevance, and long-term impact.
