Experience Economy

Consumer demand for experiences rather than things has accelerated in recent years. ABA conducted a major research study to understand how arts and culture organizations  –inherently experience-based organizations– can continue to create compelling and transformational experiences that attract new audiences and stay ahead of competitive threats.

Our study reveals the interconnected behavioral shifts and technological innovations driving this acceleration, and introduces a framework for adopting an experiential mindset, supported by innovative examples from both inside and outside the sector to help arts organizations capture growing consumer demand. Finally, it reflects on how the role of arts and culture in the experience economy is likely to evolve in the years ahead.
