Ticket & Subscription Sales

Our latest ABA Executive Benchmark asked arts and cultural leaders about the state of their most recent season or year-to-date sales, including single tickets, subscription and memberships, and group sales.

Highlights from the survey include:

  • A majority of performance-based respondents are averaging under 80% house sold capacity, though for many this is an increase from last year.

  • Single ticket and subscription sales are mostly up from last year, with single tickets seeing the higher increases of the two.

  • Besides ticket and subscription sales, the top three sources of earned income are paid classes, concessions, and rental events.

  • Most arts and cultural leaders foresee steady or higher single ticket and subscription sales for next year/season, but are less optimistic about group sales.
